Getting started!


We all say we want to live a healthy lifestyle but sometimes we get lost in all the ways to do it.
Hopefully these ideas will help you, peel away all the doubts and get you on your way to the lifestyle you desire.
[1] Go see your doctor.   Start the year by making sure your body is in good working order. Before going to the doctor, make a list of any questions you might have, that way you will… not come out with any unanswered questions.
[2] Start moving.   Start small and add more activity as you build your strength and stamina. Aim to reach 30 minutes four or more times each week. Dancing is an excellent activity, even if it’s only in your living room.
[3] Put color to your plate!   When grocery shopping in the produce department, look at all the colors. Eating a variety of different fruits and vegetables will give you a better chance at getting all the nutrients you need in a healthy diet.
[4] Fiber is your friend.   Look for fiber in all food items. Whole grain fiber fills you up without being filled with calories.
[5] Maintain your healthy weight.   If you are not there yet, set a plan to get yourself there.
[6] Stop the smoking habit.   This can be a tough one but millions of people have done it, so it is possible. Get professional help if you feel you need it.
[7] Drink more water!   Water keeps you hydrated and takes toxins from the body. Being well nourished means drinking enough water to be hydrated. It improves focus, increases your energy and cuts calories when used to replace sweetened beverages.
[8] Reduce your stress.   Teach yourself to relax. Find an activity that allows you to relax, whether it’s visiting with a friend, reading, or just looking at the fire flies. A healthy body starts with a healthy mind.
[9] Sleep, peaceful sleep.   Getting 7-8 hours a night of sleep is a healthy goal. You will find you have more energy and be more productive at everything you do.
[10] Start small.   Pick something small (like getting more sleep) that can make a big impact in your health and how you feel and begin with it. Then, add one new thing every week to ten days, until you have reached your goal.
By allowing some of these ideas to work for you, in time, you will reach the healthy lifestyle you are seeking. Your happiness level will improve and soon friends will see the change in your attitude and the smile on your face.
